Terms of Service
1. The short version
SnapReady is a macOS application that turns screenshots into framed, polished images. We are a small independent software company. These Terms govern your use of the SnapReady application, our website at snapready.app, and any related services.
By installing, activating, or using SnapReady, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app, and contact us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.
2. Who we are
“SnapReady”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the operator of snapready.app and the developer of the SnapReady application. Our contact address for legal notices, support, and refund requests is support@snapready.app.
“You” and “your” refer to the individual or legal entity that purchased a SnapReady license or uses the SnapReady application.
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record for purchases. Lemon Squeezy is responsible for handling sales tax, VAT, and the payment transaction itself. Your purchase receipt and credit-card statement will show Lemon Squeezy as the vendor. Their terms of service apply to the payment transaction in addition to ours.
3. The license you are buying
When you purchase SnapReady, you are buying a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable (except as described in Section 5) license to use the software on a limited number of Macs you own or control, for personal or commercial purposes. You are not buying the software itself, and we retain all intellectual property rights in SnapReady.
3.1 Tiers and device limits
SnapReady is sold in two tiers. Both tiers include the full feature set of the application and lifetime updates within the v1.x release line. Major version upgrades (for example, a future v2.0) may be offered at a discounted upgrade price to existing licensees.

Prices are stated in US dollars and exclude any sales tax or VAT, which Lemon Squeezy will calculate and add at checkout based on your billing location.
3.2 What “lifetime updates” means
“Lifetime updates” means you receive all bug fixes, security patches, and feature updates released within the v1.x version line at no additional cost. We commit to security and stability updates for at least 24 months after the initial public release of v1.0. We make no promise that updates will continue forever, that any specific feature will be added, or that the app will run on future versions of macOS we have not yet tested against.
If we release a major version upgrade (v2.0 or later), it may be offered as a separate paid upgrade. Existing license holders will receive at least a 50% discount on the upgrade price.
3.3 What “perpetual” means
Once you have purchased and activated SnapReady, your license does not expire. The version of the app at the time of purchase, along with all subsequent v1.x updates, will continue to work on macOS versions it supports, even if we stop selling or supporting the app.
4. Device activation
Your license is bound to specific Mac devices, up to the activation limit of your tier. The first time you launch SnapReady on a Mac and enter your license key and email, the app contacts our licensing service (operated through Lemon Squeezy) to register that Mac as one of your activations.
4.1 Activation limits
Solo licenses activate on 1 Mac. Pro licenses activate on 3 Macs. If you attempt to activate on a Mac beyond your limit, the app will show you the list of currently active Macs and offer to deactivate one of them from inside the new Mac.
4.2 Periodic re-validation
SnapReady periodically contacts our licensing service to confirm your license is still valid. This check is lightweight (license key, instance ID, and your email only — no image content, no usage data) and runs in the background. If your Mac is offline, the app will continue to work in its full Pro state for up to 7 days. After 7 days offline without successful re-validation, the app will fall back to free-tier behavior until it can re-validate.
4.3 Deactivation
You can deactivate any of your active Macs from inside the app (Settings → License → Deactivate this Mac). This frees up an activation slot. If you lose access to a Mac (sold, broken, stolen) and cannot deactivate it from there, email support@snapready.app and we will help you free the slot.
5. License transfer
Your SnapReady license is personal to you. You may transfer it to another individual once during the life of the license (for example, you are selling the Mac it is on, gifting the app, or changing legal entity). To transfer, deactivate the license from all your Macs and email support@snapready.app from the email address on the license, telling us the new licensee's email address. We will update the license record.
Subsequent transfers may be permitted at our discretion. We reserve the right to deny transfers if we suspect license sharing or fraud.
6. What you may do with SnapReady
- Install and use SnapReady on any Mac you own or control, up to your tier's activation limit.
- Use SnapReady for personal or commercial work. Images you create with SnapReady are yours, and we make no claim on them.
- Sell, distribute, or otherwise commercialize images you create with SnapReady, including images intended for paid client work, products, advertising, or App Store listings.
- Run SnapReady on Macs operated by your employer, provided that your tier's activation limit covers the number of those Macs.
7. What you may not do with SnapReady
- Share your license key publicly or with people outside the activation limit of your tier.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of SnapReady, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Remove, modify, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices in the application.
- Use SnapReady to produce content that is illegal in your jurisdiction, including content that infringes copyright, depicts child sexual abuse material, or violates court orders.
- Resell or redistribute the SnapReady application itself, whether for free or for a fee.
- Use SnapReady or our licensing service in a manner that disrupts, damages, or attempts to gain unauthorized access to our systems.
8. Free tier
SnapReady is also available as a free download with a limited free tier. The free tier allows 3 exports per day per Mac, applies a small “Made with SnapReady” watermark to exported images, and limits export resolution to 1x. The free tier is offered as-is and may be modified, restricted, or discontinued at any time without notice. Free-tier users are bound by these Terms in the same way paid users are, except for sections that explicitly apply to paid licenses.
9. Updates
SnapReady includes an auto-update feature powered by Sparkle, an open-source update framework. By default, the app will check for updates periodically and prompt you to install them. You can disable automatic update checks in Settings, in which case you are responsible for manually checking for updates that may include security fixes.
We may release updates that change features, modify the user interface, deprecate or remove functionality, or change system requirements. We will make a reasonable effort to communicate significant changes in advance through the in-app changelog and our website.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
SNAPREADY IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APPLICATION WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR SECURE, OR THAT IT WILL CORRECTLY DETECT AND REDACT ALL PERSONAL OR SENSITIVE INFORMATION IN YOUR SCREENSHOTS.
The PII redaction and secret-blurring features are best-effort assistive tools. They are not a substitute for reviewing your exported images before publishing them. You are responsible for verifying that exported images do not contain information you do not intend to share.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF SNAPREADY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR YOUR LICENSE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR DAMAGE TO REPUTATION, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
12. Termination
These Terms remain in effect until terminated. You may terminate at any time by uninstalling SnapReady and deleting your license credentials. We may terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms (for example, by sharing your license key publicly or using the app for illegal content). In that case, your license key will be revoked and the app will return to free-tier behavior. We will refund any unused portion of your purchase price within the 14-day refund window described in our Refund Policy.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the SnapReady operator is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through good-faith email correspondence will be brought in the courts of that jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you retain all mandatory consumer-protection rights under your local law.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes (anything that meaningfully affects your rights, your license, or your refund options) will be announced by email to the address on your license at least 30 days before they take effect. Minor changes (typos, clarifications, contact-information updates) take effect immediately when posted at snapready.app/terms.
Continued use of SnapReady after a material change means you accept the new Terms. If you do not accept them, email us within 30 days of the announcement and we will refund your most recent 12 months of license purchases on a pro-rata basis.
